TOS Foundation Africa has formalised a transformative strategic partnership with the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses’ Forum (NGSF) to strengthen women’s economic empowerment, improve child survival outcomes, and enhance livelihoods nationwide through coordinated, state‑led interventions.
The collaboration builds on the Foundation’s Women and Girls Empowerment (WAGE) and Capacity Building Incubator (CBI) framework, a model designed to move resources closer to grassroots communities and reinforce local institutions so that women can participate meaningfully in economic life with dignity, stability, and agency.
Unveiled at a high‑level gathering of government, private sector, civil society, and development stakeholders, the partnership brings together TOS Foundation Africa’s programme design expertise with the Governors’ Spouses’ Forum’s grassroots reach, fostering sustainable, community‑driven development aligned with national priorities.
At the heart of the initiative are plans to strengthen Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to improve infant and maternal health outcomes, expand sustainable economic pathways for women in underserved regions, and support state‑responsive implementation models that are measurable, scalable, and impactful.
Speaking on the partnership, Chief (Mrs.) Osasu Igbinedion Ogwuche, Founder of TOS Foundation Africa, emphasized the deep link between women’s economic security and child survival.
“Improving child survival and women’s livelihoods requires more than isolated programmes; it requires systems that recognise how closely a mother’s economic stability is tied to a child’s chance at survival. When women have the tools to earn, to access quality care, and to make informed choices, families become healthier and communities grow stronger.”
Under the leadership of Her Excellency, Amb. Prof. (Mrs.) Olufolake AbdulRazaq, Chairperson of the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses’ Forum, the collaboration offers a platform for coordinated action that prioritises state ownership, sustainability, and alignment with broader social development goals.
This partnership marks a significant step toward scaling the WAGE and CBI framework nationwide and reaffirms TOS Foundation Africa’s commitment to inclusive governance, social equity, and sustainable development, bringing hope and tangible support to women and children in communities across Nigeria.
