Building Africa’s Future, One Young Innovator at a Time: The Vision of Omotoyosi Edeboh

Date:

Across Africa, conversations about the future often centre on technology, innovation, and the opportunities they can create. Yet for millions of young people, access to the skills, mentorship, exposure, and networks needed to participate in that future remains out of reach.

For Omotoyosi Edeboh, this gap is more than a challenge. It is a call to action.

A lawyer, chartered secretary, TEDx speaker, and youth development advocate, Edeboh has dedicated much of her work to helping young Africans access opportunities that can transform their lives and unlock their potential.

As Executive Director of TalentMakers Foundation, she is leading efforts to ensure that talent is not wasted simply because opportunity is unavailable.

Founded on the belief that every young person deserves a chance to succeed, TalentMakers Foundation is creating pathways for students and young professionals to explore technology, innovation, leadership, and the future of work.

Under Edeboh’s leadership, the Foundation has grown into a platform that equips young people with practical skills, connects them to opportunities, and inspires them to see themselves as creators rather than consumers of innovation.

In just a short period, the organisation has reached more than 2,500 students across secondary schools, engaged educators, supported scholarship beneficiaries, and provided learning opportunities for hundreds of young people interested in technology and digital careers.

For Edeboh, however, the numbers tell only part of the story.

The real impact lies in helping a young person discover what is possible.

It lies in exposing students to opportunities they never knew existed.

It lies in helping future innovators realise that their background does not determine their potential.

That vision continues to shape the Foundation’s programmes, including TechSpark Conference 2026, a flagship initiative designed to inspire the next generation of innovators, builders, and problem-solvers.

Scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt under the theme “Innovation Begins With You,” the conference reflects Edeboh’s belief that innovation starts when young people are given the right environment to learn, connect, experiment, and grow.

Bringing together industry experts, founders, educators, and technology professionals, the conference aims to spark conversations that encourage young people to embrace innovation and prepare for opportunities within the digital economy.

As Africa’s technology ecosystem continues to expand, Omotoyosi Edeboh remains focused on one mission: ensuring that young people are equipped not just to participate in the future, but to help build it.

Through TalentMakers Foundation, she is proving that when talent meets opportunity, transformation becomes possible.
