A Germany-based education technology organisation, EIDU, has stepped up its support for basic education in Oyo State with the distribution of English and Mathematics learning materials to pupils across public primary schools.
The intervention, formally launched at Community Basic School, Ikolaba, Ibadan, is designed to strengthen foundational learning among Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils by giving teachers and learners additional resources to reinforce classroom lessons.
The initiative comes as part of EIDU’s broader partnership with the Oyo State education sector, building on previous support that included digital training for teachers and learners.
Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, commended the organisation for its continued investment in basic education, describing the latest intervention as a practical contribution towards improving learning outcomes.
According to him, the materials will complement the state government’s efforts to provide free and quality education while making classroom learning more engaging for young learners.
Adeniran also emphasised the importance of partnerships between government and development-focused organisations in strengthening the basic education system. He assured that OYOSUBEB would continue to support initiatives aimed at equipping teachers, improving access to quality learning resources and creating better educational experiences for pupils.
With the materials set to reach basic education learners across schools in Oyo State, the initiative places renewed attention on one of the most critical stages of a child’s education: building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy.
For EIDU and its partners, the intervention represents another step towards ensuring that pupils have the tools they need to learn effectively and that classrooms are better equipped to support meaningful educational outcomes.
