From Youth Development to Technology Retail: Precious Eniayekan Takes on New Leadership Role at SLOT

Date:

Precious Eniayekan is taking on a new chapter in her career, joining SLOT Systems Limited as the company’s Group Head of Marketing.

The appointment places Eniayekan at the centre of the technology retailer’s efforts to strengthen its brand, deepen customer relationships and drive its next phase of growth across Nigeria.

With more than a decade of experience across brand strategy, corporate communications, technology, social impact and business development, Eniayekan brings a career that sits at the intersection of business, technology and social impact to one of Nigeria’s most recognisable technology retail brands.

At SLOT, she will oversee the company’s integrated marketing agenda, including brand management, corporate communications, digital marketing, customer engagement, retail marketing, partnerships and innovation.

Her mandate comes at a time when technology retail is changing rapidly. Consumers increasingly expect brands to offer more than products, with convenience, digital engagement, customer experience and trust becoming important parts of the buying journey.

For Eniayekan, that changing landscape presents an opportunity to build on something SLOT has already established: a strong relationship with Nigerian consumers.

“SLOT has earned the trust of millions of Nigerians over the years by consistently delivering authenticity, accessibility, and exceptional customer service,” she said.

She added that her focus would be on strengthening those customer connections, elevating the brand experience and positioning SLOT for sustainable growth in an evolving technology environment.

Before joining SLOT, Eniayekan developed a profile that extends beyond traditional marketing.

She has worked across technology, education, communications and social entrepreneurship and is known for initiatives focused on youth development and leadership.

She is the founder of The Stellar Initiative and BoyCode Bootcamp, programmes that have focused on equipping young people with skills in areas including coding, cybersecurity, design, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Her work in education has also earned recognition. In 2024, she was named among Nigeria’s Top Educators through the Maltina Teacher of the Year programme, recognition linked to her work at the intersection of education, technology and youth development.

Her leadership in youth development has also included the BoyCode Conference, which brought together young men and prominent voices from business, entertainment and public service to discuss purpose, leadership, emotional intelligence and personal development.

That background gives her new corporate role an interesting dimension.

Rather than moving into marketing from a single-track commercial career, Eniayekan enters the position with experience working with young people, building communities, developing programmes and communicating ideas across different audiences.

SLOT has spent more than two decades building its position in Nigeria’s technology retail market. The company says its journey began in 1998 and has grown into a nationwide retail business serving consumers with mobile phones, computers, accessories and other technology products.

The company is now looking to deepen its customer-centric approach as the retail environment becomes increasingly digital.

For Eniayekan, this means the marketing function will extend beyond traditional advertising.

Her responsibilities include brand transformation, integrated marketing communications, retail experience, digital growth, customer loyalty and strategic partnerships.

She is also expected to work closely with SLOT’s executive leadership team on initiatives designed to strengthen customer engagement and support the company’s longer-term growth strategy.

For a professional whose career has combined commercial communication with education and social impact, the move represents a significant transition into a senior corporate leadership position.

It also reflects a broader shift in the Nigerian business environment, where companies increasingly require leaders who can understand not only products and markets, but also people, communities and rapidly changing consumer behaviour.

As Eniayekan begins her new role, the opportunity before her is clear: help one of Nigeria’s most familiar technology brands translate its longstanding reputation for trust and accessibility into a more digitally connected and customer-focused future.

For SLOT, it is an investment in a new kind of marketing leadership.

For Eniayekan, it is another opportunity to bring together the different strands of a career built around technology, communication, people and impact.
