The Guardian Nigeria, in strategic partnership with Federal Palace Resort, has announced the opening of participation, sponsorship and partnership opportunities for the 2027 Guardian Woman Festival, a month-long platform designed to spotlight the economic contributions, leadership and influence of Nigerian women.
The 2027 edition will take place throughout March 2027 under the theme, “Women as Wealth Creators,” with activities hosted at the historic Federal Palace Resort in Lagos from March 2 to 30. The programme will officially open on March 1 and conclude with a closing ceremony on March 31.
The month-long initiative is designed to move beyond a single-day celebration of women and create a sustained platform where businesses, government institutions, development organisations, women-led enterprises and other stakeholders can convene, collaborate and invest in women.
The festival reflects a growing recognition that women are not simply beneficiaries of economic development but active contributors to wealth creation, enterprise growth, innovation and national development.
Guardian Woman Festival Convener and Executive Director of Federal Palace Resort, Anita Athena Ibru, said the festival is built around the understanding that investing in women creates value across families, organisations and the wider economy.
“When we invest in women through knowledge, networks, opportunity, contacts and mentorship, we strengthen families, organisations, and the economy,” Ibru said.
The 2027 edition will feature conversations, conferences, workshops, networking sessions, wellness activities and other experiences focused on the different ways women create economic and social value across sectors.
Organisations are being invited to host their own conferences, trainings, corporate social responsibility initiatives, networking events and other women-focused activities as part of the March programme.
The partnership provides participating organisations with an opportunity to connect their brands and initiatives to a wider national conversation around women’s economic participation, leadership and empowerment.
Rather than concentrating activities into a single flagship event, the month-long format allows organisations to create more focused engagements and develop partnerships around specific areas of interest.
The festival will also align with the global International Women’s Day conversation around “Balance the Scales,” reinforcing the importance of equity, safety, opportunity and agency for women and girls.
A major cultural dimension will also feature in the 2027 programme as Nigeria commemorates the 50th anniversary of FESTAC ’77.
The historic festival, which brought together artists and performers from across Africa and the diaspora in Lagos in 1977, remains one of Nigeria’s most significant cultural events. Its inclusion in the Guardian Woman Festival provides an opportunity to examine the role of women, creativity and cultural enterprise in Africa’s economic and social development.
The choice of Federal Palace Resort as the host venue further connects the festival to Nigeria’s national history. The property played a prominent role around Nigeria’s independence in 1960 and has since served as a venue for significant cultural, business and national events.
For the organisers, that history provides a meaningful backdrop for a contemporary conversation about women and national development.
“Federal Palace is a living property, not just a building where events happen,” Ibru said, describing the venue as a platform where leadership, culture and economic opportunity can intersect.
The festival is expected to bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, government agencies, development organisations, investors, women’s networks, creatives, professionals and other stakeholders interested in advancing opportunities for women.
Partnership opportunities are available for organisations seeking to convene events, showcase their brands, engage women-focused audiences, support women-led initiatives or contribute to conversations around enterprise, leadership, technology, finance, wellness, creativity and economic development.
The organisers are particularly encouraging organisations to use the month-long platform to move beyond symbolic participation and create engagements with clear outcomes for women.
The 2027 edition builds on the festival’s expansion into a month-long programme, following its previous collaboration with Federal Palace Resort. The longer format is designed to create more opportunities for learning, relationship-building, visibility and sustained engagement.
With women increasingly driving businesses, creating employment, leading organisations and contributing to Nigeria’s creative and innovation economy, the Guardian Woman Festival 2027 seeks to place their economic contribution at the centre of the national conversation.
The festival is therefore inviting organisations and individuals to become part of the platform—not simply as sponsors, but as partners in creating opportunities, visibility and measurable value for women.
